: A space for celebration, unity, creativity, and culture

A year after the completion of the General Prim building, in 1906, its neighboring building was inaugurated. Although the passage of time and the similarity in materials mean that their facades can now be interpreted as part of the same architectural complex, architectural complex, their functions were completely different, with the latter serving as an apartment building for the upper middle class of the time. The city expanded into other areas, and over the years the building underwent various renovations, retaining its character as a multifamily residence but increasingly moving away from its original luxury. In its final years of habitation, a large portion of the building was occupied by plumbing businesses.

The house was acquired in 2013 by Proyectos Públicos and has since served as a venue for major cultural and festive events. A large 50-meter-long gabled roof, designed by the architectural firm Productora, is the building’s most striking feature, serving to partially cover its three courtyards. A contemporary and light-feeling design that, once again, symbolizes the building’s various intersections.

It’s hard to list all the activities that take place there, in a space that combines workspaces, restaurants, short-stay apartments, and numerous areas dedicated to cultural events and celebrations.

Over the years, the building underwent various uses and changes in ownership, falling into disrepair until it was abandoned in the 1970s. However, its structure and façade—which includes a stone plaque from the Hacienda de la Encarnación—withstood the test of time, preserving the essence of its original grandeur. In the 2000s, the INBA protected the building, blocking its demolition and recommending its comprehensive restoration.

In 2013, the property was acquired to create the Proyecto Público Prim, transforming it into a space where history and nature come together. Jardín Prim 32, with its light and elegant structure designed by Productora in 2019, offers a contemporary setting that respects and enhances its historic architecture. Here, every event is celebrated surrounded by the magic of a glorious past, combined with the sophistication of the present.
