One Hundred Years of History, One Hundred Years of Celebrations: General Prim

In a Mexico that was going through one of the most interesting periods of its history, the Porfirian era, where progress and tension walked hand in hand. There was a large house dedicated to celebration. A space that sought to pay homage to the encounter; where social, political and cultural life mingled between stained glass windows and long after-dinner conversations.

General Prim, built in 1905 by the engineer Don Alberto Robles Gil, a key figure of modern Mexico who was involved in the direction of public works, laid out roads and streetcar lines, and actively participated in the modernization of the capital during the Porfiriato. He also opened the doors of his house to memorable parties and meetings where the direction of the country was discussed. In those same halls where the destiny of Mexico was woven, today unions are celebrated that look to the future without losing sight of the history that precedes them.

In Proyectos Públicos we not only seek to exalt the past: we seek to celebrate from the same tradition. The spirit of the celebrations is still alive, transformed but just as powerful, in every celebration that takes place within these walls.

The truth is that Mexico City has become one of the most powerful destinations for this type of celebrations. Why? Because here, history, architecture, gastronomy and a cosmopolitan vibe that cannot be found anywhere else. It is a city that embraces the public and the private, the monumental and the intimate.

Celebrating in a place with history implies taking care of what it represents. Spaces are not neutral; they have memory, layers and identity. Every celebration that takes place in our venues starts from that awareness: to resignify without stripping, to celebrate without erasing the history and culture that has shaped them. Just as the stairs of General Prim witnessed one of the most defining eras of modern Mexico, between dances, conversations and agreements, today our venues continue to accompany new forms of encounter.
