A place where art, nature, and architecture intertwine in a constant dialogue
Surrounded by the city’s most important art galleries, this building is composed—much like a game of Tetris—of spaces that offer diverse uses and intersect with one another, taking as its starting point a mid-20th-century house that has gradually expanded in different directions, creating new spaces concealed by its winding vegetation.
The top floor consists of an apartment with a garden and enormous windows that blur the line between indoors and outdoors. A large hallway connects the different areas of the house, with the interior unfolding along its length. A garden on the third floor, along with a courtyard featuring a reflecting pool, and the proximity to the treetops, isolate us from any sense of the city.
On the second floor is a space designed to serve as a photography studio or exhibition space. With its high ceilings and ample natural light, this spacious room is the perfect setting for any photo shoot.
In the adjacent house, various workspaces are connected across a large courtyard. These spaces culminate in a soaring library that houses the collections of two of Mexico’s most important architects: Agustín Hernández and Diego Villaseñor. The space is open to the public free of charge.
